The day I found this podcast, I ended up binging every episode and listened to a couple of them twice. There’s so much information and it’s presented in such a light hearted and delightful way. It was just a really nice break to listen to two folks be kind and interesting together.
Charles C Mann was already my favorite nonfiction author. He’s the author of 1491, which is a book every American should read. He and Virginia are fabulous conversation partners. She has reams and reams of interesting stories and information at her fingertips and he is openly delighted by her.
It’s not often that you get to hear two truly brilliant and fun people talk to each other, even more rare is the way that Mann brings out Postrel’s brilliance by asking great questions and following her lead on the rabbit trail.
I hope they make a million more episodes. I would listen every day.
