Absolutely love this show. As a newcomer to gaming, it’s been fantastic to listen to. I love the opinions of the whole cast but really want to applaud Beau’s take on things. I find his insights really fascinating. Thank you all for providing me with so many hours of happiness.
This is a weekly listen for me, with plenty of great topics and information. The hosts are entertaining and funny, and usually provide good insight into the games they play. However, Beau needs to turn down his mic gain or something, because every time I listen to him inhale it sounds like he has half a jar of mayonnaise lodged in his throat, it is so gross to listen to.
This has been my standard weekly listen for some time now. Hands down the best hosts around with the most in depth discussions on the topics at hand.
Great show and great hosts. A weekly must listen for anyone interested in video games and the happenings around them who also enjoy some entertaining conversations.
I’ve been listening to Scott’s podcasts since way back during the original Instance podcast. It’s time to part ways, though. First, Beau is painful to listen to. Overruns the other hosts, doesn’t even pay attention to what they’re talking about sometimes, gives spoilers during reviews, and doesn’t even know what he’s talking about half the time. Second, any feedback given to the show on other forums that isn’t “great show!” is met with disdain from the hosts. Now, that may be par for the course elsewhere, but there used to be a community feeling here, and unless you’re someone who types regularly live during the show or is constantly talking in the discord, no matter how long you’ve been around, the general feeling conveyed is “don’t like it, don’t listen.” Even if the feedback is rational and reasonable. Third, the weird perverted discussions have only gotten weirder. I’m not a prude or anything, but I listen for video game discussion, not jokes about male members and bodily fluids. So, okay then. I guess I won’t listen anymore. I do wish Scott and Co. continued success but there’s a limited amount of time in the week and now better things to listen to.
This show was great when it was focused on Heroes of the Storm…maybe that’s because it was a focused thing, so when you started listening, you knew what you were getting into. You came into listen about one thing, and they were going to talk about one thing. For quite a few years now they have been covering video games as a whole. That’s a broad topic, but the hosts tend to have narrow views and strongly oppose differing ones. The hosts also have the unfortunate tendency to slide in political remarks, though fortunately this is not as prevalent as on other podcasts on the network. I’ve found that this leads to a show, and community, that is rather insular. That being said, the chemistry of the hosts is solid, so I can understand the appeal for those whose viewpoints line up with those of the hosts’. I wish Scott, Jon, and Beau well, but I just think the show, currently, falls short of their potential.
