On the surface, this is a story about twin brothers and the powerful bond of loyalty between them. But it's so much more than that. This is a profound exploration of belonging, brotherhood, and the weight of expectations—both those we impose on ourselves and those forced upon us by others, sacrifices, and transformation.

I was deeply moved by how the story examines the corrosive effects of patriarchy and toxic masculinity, and how they ultimately harm everyone involved: the men at the story's center and the women in their lives.

While categorized as a true crime podcast, this story powerfully can even mirror our own tensions of belonging and how we each navigate our place in the world.

🤔This has me asking myself: How can we transform our relationships with the world, and especially with those we love most, to forge a path toward our own becoming?

This true crime story is binge-worthy. It’s a fascinating unfolding of two identical twins who get mixed up in a murder accusation. It’s amazing story telling and deep journalism that makes you question how much your identity is innate vs shaped by those around you.

I randomly found this podcast since I have wondery+ and was intrigued by the premise of the show but wow! From the very first episode I could not stop listening, hearing the story of Trung and Ahn had me on an emotional roller coaster. What happened to them and the decisions they made that led them there was crazy. Listening to them process their trauma and the trauma they’ve caused was very impactful. Highly recommend!!

These brothers are amazing! This story has all the twists. Twins, gangs, death, mental health, jail, university, family struggles. Their willingness to share raw feelings, communicate respectfully and forgive each other is beautiful.

I ultimately could not finish this podcast due to several factors. The narration was unbearably irritating, sounding more like a four-year-old child than a voice suited for storytelling. Beyond that, the father/son dynamic was deeply unsettling: a misogynistic father, brothers lacking any moral compass, and relationships that felt more depressing than compelling. Rather than entertaining or thought-provoking, it felt like a portrait of wasted lives and poor choices. Unfortunately, this one was a miss overall.

This is an interesting story, but the narration makes it really confusing. The host is so upbeat and childlike, it sounds like she’s describing a Hannah Montana episode when it’s actually an account of murder, fights, and theft by twin brothers. Her tone makes it seem as if these are typical, cute childlike antics. I think this could’ve been an interesting story to hear otherwise. I quit on episode 3.
