350 British civilians are dead and Russia is responsible. Number 10 hits back as a hapless Prime Minister plays his hand in the age of regime decapitation. Bear Hunt is a technically rigorous action drama exploring the political manoeuvres, operational challenges and conflict expertise required to assassinate a head of state. Billed as a British Bourne, this geopolitical thriller pulls listeners into the white-hot corridors of power in Westminster and Washington. To the battlefields where the nation’s best learnt their killing trade. And to the mission itself, deep behind enemy lines. Goalhanger’s award-winning drama team worked with current and former military and defence professionals to shape the most accurate and daring mission conceivable: a forensic exploration of what it takes, in the modern age, to kill the President of the Russian Federation.

The story takes a winding path, but do not mistake it for meandering…By the middle of episode 2, the world, the characters, and the journey ahead began to take shape. Ahead is an impossible mission with global stakes crafted by flawed characters for deeply personal reasons. Like the genesis of Treadstone but deeply grounded in our modern world. Who’s ready for a bear hunt? I am…
Excellent! Like Le Carré , it does require one to sometimes bridge the gap with the characters and plot but that’s what espionage is all about. Well done !
Absolutely gripping in its storytelling. It may seem like disconnected scenes at times, if you’re a simpleton, but they’re all connected into a narrative that is both realistic and entertaining
As a citizen of the great State of Ohio, let me say your portrayal of our national leader is quite deserved. We need more of this kind of thing- current and technical but with human interest and a bit of wry humor to give a break. Listening to the reality of world politics all the time can wear a person out.
This is a great concept. It reminds me of a Tom Clancy plot, but unlike that, it is so frustrating to follow. Characters rarely introduce themselves, they are often yelling into phones and talking in noisy areas and it’s completely unclear what is going on most of the time. It’s one thing to portray chaos - the media, the disparate parties with incomplete information, the political posturing, the confusion between fact and opinion, but this is beyond what most people will expect. I don’t know if I’ll continue last the first episode.
