A great resource and a wealth of knowledge that has been so helpful as my daughter grows in her ballet journey. It has prompted thinking in areas I hadn’t considered and am thankful to the creators of this podcast and also to The Washington School of Ballet/ The Washington Ballet to have shared this resource with their families and dancers.
This podcast has been my go-to resource for my son’s ballet dance journey. We are a swim and golf family with 0 dance knowledge. My son also started late so their episodes on the ins and outs have been helpful with summer intensives, auditions, pre-pro training, and post graduate realities. They attract excellent guests and ask great questions. Thank you for this offering!
This is the best resource I have found and words cannot express my gratitude. I have made it through all episodes and we have listened to many twice. I found this podcast shortly after taking my son to an open audition for Nashville Ballet’s Nutcracker in 2024. We live over an hour away and thought this would just be a good experience for our son. We expected he would be a mouse and we could graciously say “no thank you we live too far,” but he was cast as Fritz. Then he fell in love. I studied dance at 2 universities, but was not prepared to have a young boy so taken with classical ballet. I needed help and found more than I could hope for at Ballet Help Desk. We choose to find a junior intensive because of what I learned from this podcast. We sought out online coaching through the Male Dancer Connection and we were armed with knowledge to make choices to leave our local studio for a company affiliated program. My son and I were prepared last week for his first conference with his teacher because of what we learned from all the episodes here. This truly is invaluable information and my son love listening to Fran! I cannot wait to keep learning and really feel that I am in good hands with Brett and Jenny. I could keep writing as their work has already many a huge difference in how I can support my son. Also know if you have a ballet boy Nashville is a great place. Because of the wisdom I heard in all the episodes we knew we had to make the drive to Nashville for the school year. My son is not alone any more and I would not have known the importance of boys being together without this podcast. From getting “color catching” Tide sheets to keep his white shirts bright to choosing the best summer opportunities for him…. This resource is the best. If I had had this podcast when I was a young dancer my life would be different. Listen to every episode families and know you are in good hands!
As a newbie ballet mom I’m so grateful I found this podcast! This is our third year of ballet and as my dancer gets older I feel like I have more questions about how to help them progress as a dancer and questions about competitions. Glad I found this podcast to answer some of these questions!
