Balcony Baddies
by Weller Dorff & Jaelynn Ricks
We're Jaelynn & Weller, two young theatre artists just breaking into the industry, and this season we're seeing every Broadway show eligible for the 2027 Tony Awards. Each week, we break down a show from our seats in the back row of the balcony, discussing the performances, the design, the writing, its social relevance, and maybe end up wandering down a few rabbit holes along the way (What can we say? We like to talk!). We talk about what it's like to love this business while building a life in it, and what each production says about where American theatre is headed. Along the way, we'll track the season and make our predictions for the 2027 Tony nominations and winners. Whether you're a fellow theatre maker, a casual ticket-buyer, or just trying to decide what's worth seeing, we'll give you our signature eagle-eyed perspective. See you in the back row!
