I really enjoy the narration style of this podcast. It is unique, engaging and fun. It also is a great travelog of the roads of America and the odd places along the way. Places that when you travel through them seem like it is entirely possible to have an alternative universe just beyond the shadows. This podcast takes you there. Is your seatbelt on?

This is my favorite podcast ever! Along with Welcome to Nightvale but I’m not finished with that one yet. I love everything about this show, the plot is really compelling and always has you on the edge of your seat by you also can’t help but feel relaxed at the same time. For being a horror sort of thing it is also very beautiful and poetic. The philosophies and philosophical thinking is so far unique in its way, always very very interesting and thought provoking, can’t speak for everyone but at least for me as someone who loves philosophical thinking any chance I get, this podcast is unmatched in its greatness. 10/10 love it so much, recommend to everyone but especially people with good taste (Apologies for all the long run-on sentences)

So glad Keisha is back— I really wasn’t sure how the show would pick up from what I felt was a very final, no-loose-ends ending, but I really like the new season’s focus on more magical aspects. I will say that this show has a very particular style, which is different from a lot of popular audio dramas out there. If you prefer your audio dramas to sound as close to real life as possible, this is probably not the one from you— however, I love that it doesn’t linger in the “awkward, almost-realistic dialog” valley, but instead steers hard towards the tone of an audiobook. The writing style has a beautiful, very poetic prose-y feel, and it’s mostly a one-woman show, with conversations recounted secondhand and after-the-fact by the narrator, so it really sounds more novel-esque a lot of the time. But if this narrative framing works for you, WOW are the contents beautiful to discover. If you like road trips, spooky Americana, and carefully-wrought prose, this podcast isn’t up your alley, it *is* the alley. Been a fan for more or less eight years, and having this new season reminds me why I loved it all in the first place. Thanks to Joseph Fink and Jasika Nicole for bringing this one back to us.
