Scrooge: A Christmas Carol

I did not expect to be taken in by this story as I’ve read it many times before. The acting, the sounds, the writing was all spectacular and immersive. I was so excited after the first 5 minutes, that I grabbed my husband to enjoy it together. He was in awe, and said this is now an annual tradition for us. Thank you for creating this and using such talented actors!!

This is one of the best adaptations of A Christmas Carol. There are details that movies don’t get into that add so much depth to this wonderful story. And listening to it versus watching it allows your imagination to take over. Something we no long get to do.

This was such a treat to listen to. The script, the acting, and the sound effects were brilliantly executed. It was emotional and inspiring. I love the focus on Jesus in this beloved story 🤍

Definitely a new tradition. The quality and sound is great. Fantastic to just listen and use your imagination as you hear the different sounds. Get away from the tv, sit around a fire and enjoy the show like people did 70-80 yrs ago listening to the radio and using their imaginations.

Good production quality cannot replace the fact that this was more than a retelling. What the writers did was anchor to a few hard points in the original timeline and take great liberties in between. This is not for anyone who has read Dickens A Christmas Carol more than once and is familiar with the storyline. This is a complete rewrite with entirely new scenes made from scratch. I couldn’t recommend this podcast to a serious book reader. In all the time devoted to this retelling, the listener could have read the original book outright.
