My favorite AI podcast by far. The length is perfect, especially for a busy professional that doesn’t have the time for hour-long podcasts.
This was one of the first AI podcasts that I found. I’m still a regular listener. The hosts do a great job of making AI topics easily understood. I have a comment about the USA AI action plan episode. There is a great article called ‘collaboration at the brink’ which discusses developing AI in an ‘AI arms race’ paradigm. They call it dangerous. They believe that safety will take a lower priority. They believe that guard rails for human needs may take a lower priority. All of those human-centered concerns should be baked in throughout the AI evolution. The action plan seems to ignore clean energy. I happen to know that the wildfires have been worse, and the oceans have warmed to a point where hurricanes are larger and slower-moving, Making them more deadly. And this administration cut subsidies from the previous administration for clean energy. The action plan may not be producing the infrastructure such as committees and boards to help with employment impacts. This evolution will be a global evolution. I find it interesting to look how advanced nations such as the European Union and the UK are handling this evolution. We do see EU committees being formed. We see safety and human needs as topics in EU public statements. In the Internet revolution, the massive increase in productivity was handled differently in the EU. They shared the benefits of the increase productivity between corporate executives and the employees. Employee work hours were reduced leaving more family time. They retained their retirement age and kept their pensions. The United States worked more hours, lost their pensions, and the retirement age was increased. I’m thinking of moving to the EU or Canada. Thanks for a great podcast and a thorough discussion of the US AI action plan.
Tons of great topics, tips, tricks, new innovations and advancements. All in 10-15 minute quick-hit pods! Def recommended!
Great podcast guys, but the problems with Jaeden’s audio stream are not only distracting, but sometimes alter the meaning of what he’s saying. In both the Apple podcast and the YouTube version, there is intermittent clicking and lost syllables (or skipped words!). No such problems in Conor’s audio.
This podcast is all over the place. The topics they choose are often unique, but rarely ever apply to anyone at all. Just count the number of times someone says, “I just thought it was interesting that…” To make it even less interesting, it’s painfully clear that this is just a vehicle for peddling their other jobs as AI Expert Advisors—because they remind you. Every. Single. Episode. Don’t let that fool you, though. They aren’t AI geniuses. In their rush to get this word salad out the door, the episodes consistently suffer from poor audio quality. I’m writing this review because the last episode had almost 30 seconds of completely dead air baked in. I thought it was my connection, but you can pull up the transcript in the Apple Podcasts app and, sure enough, the dead air appears as “…” If only they had applied AI to some of these very solvable issues, they might not get such bad reviews. The irony is truly staggering.
This episode was a frustrating mix of ignorance and misplaced outrage. The hosts clearly have little understanding of AI, making sweeping claims about China’s advancements without verifying basic facts. They throw around accusations of copying data from other models without evidence, ignoring how AI development actually works. Instead of meaningful analysis, it’s just fearmongering and shallow contempt. If you’re looking for informed discussion, look elsewhere.
