A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

This is the ultimate Warhammer podcast and a great way to distract yourself from current world events. (Most of this review is about 40k but they have AOS content as well!) They have everything, from hobby advice (which has been extremely helpful) to books to dataslates and codexes to 40k trivia game shows. Nearly everything is entertaining, and if there is an aspect of 40k you’re most interested in, you’ll find no shortage of videos on the topic. One of my favorite parts of this podcast are the new player guides. When I started out, this podcast helped me massively. The advice to use Rust-oleum primer instead of the overpriced Citadel primer has saved me at least $150 so far and their videos covering each faction helped me decide which faction to begin collecting and helped me learn the basics of the very intimidating lore of 40k. What I love most about this podcast however, is how the hosts make even the most boring details of 40k entertaining. From minuet rules to ways to collect Warhammer without breaking the bank, nearly every topic covered is fun and entertaining to listen to. While some criticize the slightly cynical take on Games Workshop, I think that it’s what makes this podcast even more endearing. It adds a unique flavor that most 40k podcasts and YouTube channels lack. They cover nearly every rules development in a fun way that makes discussion about tiny changes in numbers in a board game fun to listen to. It’s the perfect mix of information and fun and especially appeals to the 40k player who values not spending their entire life savings to collect 40k. I’d recommend this podcast to anyone interested in Warhammer (they do AOS too!) or tabletop gaming in general.

Look I am only 40k curious and I enjoy listening to this show. After being out of the hobby for many years this makes me feel like a community I could hop back into. Good folks, with interesting takes. Thank you for sharing!

The hosts are fantastic! They bounce off of each other so well and both clearly have a great wealth of knowledge and love for what they’re talking about. I look forward to every episode, have enjoyed their collabs with other creators, and haven’t found anything that scratches the very particular itch that this podcast scratches. Listen to it!

These two put so much imagination and soul into this podcast. It is the best podcast/YouTube in the 40K space. One of the hosts can be abrasive at times, but usually it is funny. Love the most recent episode about a 40K race. Keep up the good work.

I don’t need a podcast to be propaganda for a corporation, but, in my opinion, there’s just too much complaining about Warhammer in this podcast for it to be enjoyable. The description for the show says that their goal “is to help Warhammer be approachable and to welcoming to all plays and hobbyists,” but I think the actual feeling it gives off is that you would be better off staying away from Warhammer. That’s a fine position for someone to take, but not one I want from a show about Warhammer. I’ll dip in every now and then to see if things change, but, as it stands, it’s not a podcast I would recommend.
