What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I am a skincare/hair care nerd (love reading reviews, love understanding the science) and this show just hits such a valuable niche of curious rabbit holes for the folks who love makeup/ skincare/ etc. i listen when i commute or jog and often find myself having lightbulb moments - high recommend!

I am a consumer and a home chemist (think: cleaning lady, cosmetic connoisseur). All of the training I received (high school + college chemistry) taught me that there is so much to the chemical world, and that I essentially know nothing. However, I know enough to know that Jen’s science and her logic is sharp and sound enough for me to trust her on the things I don’t fully understand yet. I have loved every episode. Thank you.

Ehmuh · Feb 2025

I was caught up in clean beauty science trying to figure out what to do to help my baby’s severe eczema without causing harm and going over budget. I was avoiding so many helpful products because of clean beauty messaging—and I have a decent science background—and after hearing episodes and seeing the Instagram, I finally understood the products I was avoiding were SAFE. Breath of relief for me as a mom. I work in wellness and passing on this info has been invaluable to helping others as well.

DancerPTA · Mar 2021

I really like this podcast mainly because it provides a scientific perspective on the beauty industry. Doesn’t push products, just focus on the science behind ingredients etc. The only criticism I would give it is that it gets a little too preachy.
