What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I’ve been listening to the Dice Tower for about 3 years now. While there are some other good podcasts, this one is simply my favorite as they do a great job of keeping my attention with timely topics and fun banter and side bits like Tales of Horror. I even listen to old one’s over and over so please keep on making them Tom, Eric and Julie.

Monica_Pan · Nov 2023

Listening to Tom, Julie and Erik chat about board games is my favorite way to find out about new releases, and ones I might have missed. I like to hear about the process of creating a board from the inside as well. It sounds like they are having fun while they’re at which makes it fun for me too. I hope it continues on.

One-Eyed- · Oct 2023

For years this was my favorite podcast. It’s still fine, but both the podcast and various dice tower YouTube shows have lot more non-gaming chitchat about movies or pie, etc. This is fine, but the show also bends over backwards to keep from even acknowledging any uncomfortable conversations about issues in the gaming community. It’s annoying to listen to 12 minutes on TV shows while the premier board game review company in the US completely ignores current game news. While other podcasts and review shows have started talking about problematic designers, race, colonialism and representation in gaming, the dice tower prefers to talk about what marvel show is out. I like Marvel but I also like to know what the experts have to say about problematic game themes. Even when it’s uncomfortable.

Ganybyte · Apr 2021

Been a long time listener and this podcast has been instrumental in learning about the board game hobby. They strike that balance of being informative and entertaining.

Dartnet · Jun 2020

About every other episode, host Julie’s audio is either too low to hear or over-modulated and loud. The other hosts consist of a professional voice actor and a guy that’s done podcast and YouTube for 20+ years. This shouldn’t be hard to solve.
