There’s more news and less comprehension today than any historical period that didn’t involve literal witch trials, and trying to stay on top of it all can feel like playing a game of telephone with 30 people, except everyone’s speaking at the same time and like a third of them are openly racist for some reason. From Cracked co-founder Jack O’Brien, THE DAILY ZEITGEIST is stepping into that fray with some of the funniest and smartest comedic and journalistic minds around. Jack and co-host Miles Gray spend up to an hour every weekday sorting through the events and stories driving the headlines, to help you find the signal in the noise, with a few laughs thrown in for free.

My partner and I have been listening since the beginning (we were both Cracked readers wayyy back). The shows amazing and covers many important and ridiculous topics. Well rounded, nuanced and hilarious takes and jokes. Miles and Jack are great; plenty of awesome guests as well.
I’ve been listening since 2017, and Jack and Miles have been consistently high energy and enthusiastic for 7 years - through Trump I, COVID, Biden, and going in to Trump II (RIP America). Honestly, the only news podcast I’ve been able to listen to since the election.
These guys are soooooo funny! The news is a day late but there are smaller news items I don’t see other places and are great. I have learned much about younger generations too. They cover everything.
This podcast feels like a safe haven while living in small town America. Being able to listen to leftist perspectives while being surrounded by ultra conservatives helps me not feel so insane. My drive to work wouldn’t be the same without this podcast. I start almost everyday listening to Jack and Miles. The pod only gets better with time and they always have great guests! #lilzamb #mudlark
I have loved this show for nearly 10 years. Jack and Miles are both wonderful hosts, great personalities, and they bring in great guests. However… lately, I’ve been getting a weird vibe from the show. they (and Jack in particular) seem to have some big blind spots for some extremely major parts of pop culture, and seem pre-programmed to be very dismissive of subject matter they aren’t already fans of, regardless of how good or popular it might be. Politically, I also feel like they have strayed into un-alloyed cynicism. I used to appreciate their lefty, but unvarnished opinion on the political sphere. Lately, it seems to be exclusively about dunking on Biden, without enough recognization of the much more urgent issue of the rise of fascism. They even seem to conflate the two at times. I don’t love Biden, but this is maddening. If you’re going to criticize him, I would like to hear, in the same breath, an alternative opinion of what they believe people should most effectively do or vote for. It just seems cheap to mock him (the most effective liberal president in recent decades) without acknowledging the accomplishments or emphasizing the horrors of the alternative. I used to listen earnestly every weekday, and I still do mostly, but now I find myself rolling my eyes half the time. And I don’t think it’s me that has changed. I wouldn’t go so far as to call them ‘elites’, but it seems like a symptom of coastal liberalism. And I’m more leftist than liberal, who lives in the center of America. Jack and Miles seem to LOVE dunking on mainstream liberals, which is fine, but it really feels like they are MISSING THE BIG PICTURE lately.
