Dan is thoughtful, curious and warm-hearted, which is a great combination for a show like this. I do hope that even with all of the digressions that he finds room for more of the experiential/travel narrative side of things. His trek through the Everglades and interview with the mutual aid leader were the strongest bits in either of these early episodes. Also, I know Knowledge Fight social media accounts were pretty quiet but I do think more photos/video clips on there would complement the show really well.

Looking forward to seeing how this evolves!

It's hard to feel proud of America, lately or in general. But having grown up on road trips, I have a unique fondness for a culture that stems from having so much SPACE. There are so many people in so many unknown places screaming to be known, and it results in roadside attractions and novelty shops begging you to pull off the highway (Roadside America fans will be familiar with this sentiment, and while Dan was critical of their work in ep. 1 I hope he revisits the mission statement of their founder sometime because I think they could've gotten on).

Dan chooses to delve a little deeper and aim for things that don't have billboards directing you to them. It is, to me, a celebration of a true and real part of America that often falls through the cracks when we talk about ourselves. It's human. There are humans to hate and humans to love and humans to be fascinated by. I'm grateful for Dan's stubborn insistence on acknowledging all of them.

Long time Knowledge Fight fan here! I love Dan’s work, and this new venture is the perfect thing to listen to while trying to unwind from my super stressful life. I can put it on while I play Stardew Valley and briefly remember what it feels like to be safe and happy in my country, it’s so nice. I can’t wait to hear about more interesting places!
