Space Time explores the outer reaches of space, the craziness of astrophysics, the possibilities of sci-fi, and anything else you can think of beyond Planet Earth with our astrophysicist host: Matthew O’Dowd. For all business inquiries and sponsorship opportunities please reach out to: pbsspacetime@lighthouseagents.com Matt O'Dowd spends his time studying the universe, especially really far-away things like quasars, super-massive black holes, and evolving galaxies. He uses telescopes in space to do it. Matt completed his Ph.D. at NASA's Space Telescope Science Institute, followed by work at the University of Melbourne and Columbia University. He's now a professor at the City University of New York's Lehman College and an Associate at the American Museum of Natural History's Hayden Planetarium. Previous host Gabe Perez-Giz is an astrophysicist who studies black hole physics. He received his Ph.D. from Columbia University and also hosted PBS Infinite Series. patreon.com/pbsspacetime

I absolutely love this show and it’s perfect for a podcast but the frequent, loud, sudden ads make it almost unusable for now
I’m grateful for podcasts that share material like that shared through this channel, but the frequent commercial breaks that interrupt dense content mid sentence ruin this show for me. It’s as if PBS has no editorial influence on where these breaks occur or how long they are, and whomever the choice is left up to is intentionally attempting to ruin the episodes. Please improve this. It wouldn’t be too hard. Sentences end. Content areas have subdivisions. Put the commercials in places that don’t chop a sentence in half at every too frequent break. I haven’t heard another podcast so thoughtlessly chopped up for advertising. The one star is for the editing. The content gets five stars.
I love PBS Space Time, but the ads make this podcast borderline unlistenable for me. I have jumped out of my seat from how loud and sudden they are.
