I totally enjoyed hearing this interview. There are many references to the astronaut's nurse in space history, and to hear her voice tell her part of the story was amazing. I loved hearing the development of her position, her characterizations of the astronauts - her personal stories of a great time. As a child during that period, I became fascinated by the space missions, and like many, the astronauts were my hero's.

Blue Dot is not just about Earth's place in space. It is about human curiosity and the drive to create. Host and creator Dave Schlom believes in the “hell yes, that’s cool” student still alive in all of us. Driven by his own diverse interests and life long love of learning new things, Dave and co-host Nolan Ford have interviewed the leading scientists at NASA and JPL, as well as the hottest content providers on YouTube, musicians that push technology to the limits, authors and experts on everything from Sherlock Holmes to living on the International Space Station. Dave is a polymath. And as an educator, he would be thrilled if he found out you have to look that term up. A quarter of a century in the classroom teaching science coupled with his journalism background makes him the perfect host for an eclectic NPR take on the intersections of science and pop culture. He has a deep knowledge of so many fields of natural science as well as the humanities and the curiosity to always want to know more. But it is that distinctive voice that sets him apart as a radio personality. It is the voice of a story teller by the campfire explaining how the stars came to be and why you should care.

This has been the highlight of many weeks for me. The Blue Dot report is possibly my favorite show on the local NPR station(big ups NSPR!!), and always full of news about space and science in all forms. Dave and his crew somehow always find a way to make you interested and focused on the topic at hand. Hope this has many more years to come. When I hear a commercial with the theme-song in it, I even get excited. This show makes me feel smarter, know a little more current science, and even local science/space happenings. If you like learning, new things, or even just hearing really smart people try to explain things in layman terms, this is for you. Ten out of five stars!!!

Another terrific episode full of great stories and insights. Having met her, she was a real treasure to the program and remains a treasure to history today. An intelligent, graceful, and beautiful lady. STILL working at Ames! Long may she run! Thanks for this hour. Time well-spent.
