Earlier this season I was looking for a way to learn more about how the Cavs have been playing, and I am really happy I found this show! I have been really enjoying listening on my way to work in the mornings. Danny is fun and passionate about the Cavs! I think he does great analysis, is level-headed, and keeps it interesting. I’ve learned more about basketball just by listening. I like his show more than the main Locked On NBA show!
Best Cavs coverage out there! Danny Cunningham does a terrific job covering the team on a daily basis and offers really good insight. Lots of content, too, with new posts showing up shortly after the games end. Go Cavs!
I think Chris Manning is probably a really nice guy who is incredibly conscientious and earnestly wants to give fans an accurate, fair analysis of the Cavs and the team’s competitive positioning in the NBA. I bet he’s a really good friend to those who know him, and an even better member of his family. But would it kill him to laugh once in awhile when he’s on air? The show regularly lands alittle awkwardly, a little too dry - and the fix probably starts with Chris taking the stick out of his butt. And I say that with respect and admiration for the ability he does display as a dutiful reporter covering this team over the years - and there were plenty of years it probably wasn’t very fun and Chris deserves kudos for sticking with it. I think if Evan Dammarell had a little more space to inject some humor and wit into the presentation, this pod would be alot more enjoyable. And if it makes Chris squirm alittle, then even better! The analysis part of the pod is strong, but the entertainment value is pretty low for most episodes. Evan seems to have better instincts in that department, and even when his commentary goes off-color into non basketball territory it’s not a bad little break from the show’s typical “just the facts, ma’am” style. And Chris tends to shut it down very quickly, which makes the show awkward and less enjoyable. Bottom line: I like keeping up with the Cavs, but I also like to laugh. I can do both with some other Cavs pods there, and I’d like to do both with this one too.
As I don’t live in the land anymore, I enjoy tuning into the Pod to get some daily Cavs info. Generally decent discussion, if not somewhat formulaic. Biggest complaint is the constant phrases used by one of the hosts, like “at the end of the day”. Please avoid these sorts of verbal hang-ups, show will come across as more professional that way.
Locked on Cavs is my favorite daily listen and they’re part of my commute. Chris and Evan are always fair in their criticism and are quick to give praise when required. I also enjoy that they admit they’re wrong and have a great on-air chemistry.
I gave this a two rating because the host has a tendency to either swallow his words at the end of most thoughts and sentences or speaks in such a way that the end of each sentence or thought is indiscernible. Trying to listen while I’m driving I can only make out the first 2/3 of each sentence or thought. It’s like listening to someone who runs up to the microphone to speak and keeps speaking as they walks away walks away. Then they come near to the microphone and then goes away and go back back-and-forth and back-and-forth and after a while I just have to stop listening. This speech pattern is present in all the episodes this 2025-2026 season. I just started listening to this podcast. I listen as I drive and no other hosts of other shows I listen to have this same issue.
