What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

I was listening to Back Porch Theology last week and Lisa asked people to write.. I don’t normally respond to this type of thing. But, I felt Holy Spirit prompt me to put down on paper a few things.. In 2020 everything changed for my husband and myself. Due to Covid the way we had done life changed. Our circumstances changed, but our love for Jesus hasn’t. We found ourselves living and working on a remote farm in, Northern Territory, Australia. Being thankful, grateful for red dirt, blue skies, flies, drinkable water, became a priority.. I found myself reading, writing and listening to audible books. However, towards the end of 2021 I started to get a bit antsy with the Lord…. It was an 800 km round trip, (497 miles) to the closest supermarket, post office, bank etc. The closest town was Alice Springs. Phone signal was not reliable. There’s only so much Christian Music, books etc you can listen too so, “Lord Jesus what else is there”??? I had heard this chick Lisa Harper speak in Oz in 2019. I loved her straight away. What I gleaned from that message was her obvious Love for our Lord Jesus. She oozed it…. I heard that she was going to start a podcast called, Back Porch Theology. What the heck?? What is that? Who wants to sit on a porch in the stinking hot weather (104 Fahrenheit), to talk to Jesus? I am sure if He was here He would want to be in the donga. Not out with the flies, and heat. January, 2022 Back Porch Theology started and I have listened and gleaned from every episode ever since. I am 62 years of age, love Jesus with all my heart. Can’t wait to meet him when the time comes.. Eternity is on my heart. Not sure if I will be able to look Him in the eye, but I will definitely be overwhelmed and grateful to just be in His presence. I want to say THANK YOU LISA. I have put this in uppercase because I want you to hear my words. God has called you for such a time as this. I believe with all my heart that people need to hear about Jesus more than ever. I truly believe that Jesus is the best gift and only answer and what you are doing is sharing Jesus and giving people opportunity to meet Him. God has given you a gift. Thank you, and Thank You Missy, for allowing your Mum to share it with us.

My closest friend and I started Episode 1 and have not missed one week since. We got each other Backporch T shirts for Christmas and were able to attend a LH event in Littleton, CO, in November. Definitely a huge part of our week especially as we raise teens and experience all the chaos of life as mamas, wives and servants at our church. I send this to people often and feel so grateful for Doc H and all we’ve learned in these last 3 years! Thank you, Jesus!🫶🏻

I look forward to this podcast every week. I laugh, I cry and most importantly grow in my understanding of scripture. It makes me want to read my Bible more. It truly is ‘not boring’! 💕

When I listen to Lisa, I feel like I’m truly sitting with a good friend talking about Jesus. She is so down to earth, but so knowledgeable about the Bible. Love her podcasts! 🥰
