I’ve been listening to Brett Hawke for a couple of years now and I’ve learned so much about swimming and being the father of two daughters who competitively swim for a team at the City of Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex age group Team. I really enjoyed a recent podcast where Brett spoke with the coach of the United States Army team from West Point. That next week the team was at the international Hall of Fame swimming complex here in Fort Lauderdale. Practicing over the holidays. Keep up the great work Brett your podcast are so informative and I’ve learned so much listening to them.
Brett is the definitive voice in competitive swimming, engaging with some of the brightest minds in the sport. As a former elite competitor and world record-breaking coach, he brings unparalleled expertise to every conversation. Unafraid to challenge conventional thinking, Brett has been a driving force behind the sprint revolution and an advocate for integrity in the sport.
Best swim podcast hands down. Great variety. Brett is a great interviewer and really digs deep with his guests. With his own experience as an olympic swimmer and coach, he has a wealth of knowledge that he openly shares. Recent interview with Ukrainian swimmer Andrii Govorov gut wrenching but important for world to hear.
This is the way podcasting should be done. Their Olympic coverage was the best sports broadcasting I have ever seen. I don’t think there is another show that gives you a look in side the world of elite athletes like this one does. It is not only motivating but highly educational. Brett Hawke is an amazing interviewer. He asked the right question and let’s the guest answer them. His experience as a elite swimmer and coach gives him the ability to relate to his guests like no other interviewer can.
On Brett's Instagram, the host's post took a disturbing turn into outright racism, accusing Olympic athletes from other countries of cheating rather than acknowledging their talent and hard work. This biased narrative, rooted in xenophobia, disrespects the dedication of these athletes and undermines the spirit of friendly competition that the Olympics represent. Such rhetoric fuels harmful stereotypes and creates a toxic environment, reminding us of the prejudices still present in some sports media, which also impacts the podcast he posted. There should be zero tolerance for racism, and no excuse for such behavior!
