Jamie tells it like it is and stick with the cadence from the start to finish. It’s hilarious also thought provoking at times. I love his interaction with Michael Biehn and hope he has more with him soon. Just raw, no frills, podcasting keeping it real. This one just became my favorite out of all the other comedy podcasts.
Really enjoy listening to Jamie and hearing alternative thoughts on things happening in the world. I like how he doesn’t hold back and isn’t afraid of this so-called cancel culture. I wish more people did the same. So refreshing!
I am enjoying this podcast so much, which is refreshing as it is surprising. I went through a similar awakening in 2020, which many did as well and as a native SoCal girl living in a VERY liberal place, I feel often like I am living in a social experiment. Hearing someone with a platform speak out openly about it is something I appreciate so very much. In all honesty I basically have written Hollywood off because the last few years with Covid I was beyond grossed out by the hypocrisy. I didn’t get that trash vaccine and it’s the best decision I ever made, as my hubs. Let’s talk about it! This guy has reminded me not to bunch everyone in with the bunch and it’s refreshing. About to listen to his Drea interview, love her btw! I’d love if you’d have JLH on, if she’d come.
The interview with Beverly D’Angelo could have lasted 17 hours. I love them together so much!! Apart from that interview, Jamie has such a wonderful and unique perspective and a heart of gold with his guests. He’s also on another show, I grew to love him on JLL, and I connect so much to him there. The comrade he shares with all of his guests just goes to show that he’s genuine no matter where he is.
I started listening to Jamie Kennedy’s HTBITY podcast at the beginning of 2018 after I got my wisdom teeth removed. Ever since I started listening to the first five episodes, I thought it showed a side of him Jamie that was honest, transparent, philosophical, and vulnerable after he spoke about a plethora of topics that were relatable to me, my past experiences, the current events that would occur in the present, and the future, while also trying to maintain a humorous tone. After listening to those episodes, it inspired me to call on the Film/TV Industry to give Jamie a major comeback in film and television, just like how Brendan Fraser, Simon Rex, and others have made their respective comebacks in recent years. Jamie Kennedy was supposed to supposed to star in Ad Astra (2019) back on September 20th, 2019, yet his scenes were completely edited out of the film for unknown reasons. Jamie shared an episode about it at the time of its release, but it was later deleted, and I honestly don’t know why he made that decision. It was truly one of the best/most insightful episodes I’ve ever listened to, which inspired me to call for 20th Century Studios and the Criterion Collection to release an Extended/Director’s Cut of the film that featured Jamie’s deleted scenes. Fast forward to the 2020s, I began to notice Jamie Kennedy slowly changing the direction of his podcast. It all started with him talking about the COVID-19 vaccine and why he chose not to take it due to his personal health issues, and the way that President Joe Biden was being perceived by the media due to his age, for example. Although I have since taken the vaccine, in which I feel fine about it, and didn’t vote for any of the Top 2 Presidential Candidates back in 2020 despite feeling satisfied with Joe Biden being the 46th POTUS, I was very respectful to the way Jamie Kennedy used his First Amendment right to talk about these issues on his podcast. But during the middle of 2023, which was at a very pivotal moment when I was trying to focus more on my personal and professional life, that was when I started to notice Jamie become increasingly more passionate on a variety of controversial issues and topics while also inviting some very questionable right-wing coded characters to be interviewed in the podcast. A major part of me at the time thought Jamie Kennedy was doing satire, playing a different version of himself, or pulling an Oscar-worthy “Jamie Kennedy Experiment,” given his background in acting and comedy. But when the 2024 Election officially came to an end and I saw Jamie go on social media to share his praise and support for the 45th (not 47th) POTUS getting a second term, that became a big moment for me when I started to realize that Jamie was promoting the type of propaganda that a lot of problematic Republicans would promote on their platforms. It was an important teaching moment that it was okay for me to not agree with everything that Jamie Kennedy says or does online and IRL. In the aftermath of that moment, I had this expectation that Jamie was going to magically revert back to his previous self where he would focus more on his career in acting and stand-up comedy and offer an official explanation of why he made the voluntary decision to go down that path. But when I saw him double, triple, and quadruple down on his stance in the days, weeks, and months that followed online, it made me really start to question his true intentions and integrity. And the more I saw Jamie share the sound bites from HTBITY on social media, the more discouraged I felt about wanting to catch up and listen to more episodes of his podcast. If this current difficult chapter in the USA ends and prompts Jamie Kennedy to finally change his tune or if, God forbid, something bad were to happen to him at some point in the foreseeable future, I probably would be open to listening to HTBITY again for research purposes on a biographical documentary I would like to produce on the veteran actor/stand-up comedian. Not only that, but if Jamie Kennedy or his “assistant” have the time to read my below average review, I would definitely love to appear on his podcast to talk about it and/or perhaps be invited for coffee to have a private discussion on the matter instead of having to pay an X amount of money through “Fan Social” or whatever service that gives ordinary people like me access to speak with people like him. It’s his call!
