I’ve been listening off and on for a while. I’m only on episode 20 of the first campaign. I keep going back because I like the energy; I like the story; I like the characters; and I like the group. Bards of NY is the most authentic actual play out there. When I listen, it’s like I’m watching a group of friends playing the way real people play. My only complaint, and the reason I’m not further along, is that I can’t always follow the story because the sound is too quiet most of the time. Fix that and this would be a five star show!
Seriously this is one of the best actual plays out there with complex characters, drama, and humor. I do agree with a past reviewer however that it can be very quiet and I can’t listen to it while driving on the highway because my car speakers can’t play it loud enough.
Great, aesthetic voices, nice character-building, good sounds and fx. Just listened to the first episode, and there’s already a lot to appreciate here :) I’m excited to see where this exposition leads
Everything from the chemistry between the players, the lore of Cordia, the acting, and the laughs are top notch. Woody is an absolutely fantabulous DM! Lots of care and detail work goes into the world and storyline. However, he still very much runs “rules of cool” and encourages both creativity and cinematic solutions. Leonidas is also the best character.
