I’m glad that Siskoid and Bass decided to do this podcast after their great Invasion podcast. Looking back at these events is fun and it makes me remember the few OMG moments of Zero Hour and also see the many flaws of the series. Thanks for the look back and also looking forward to more episodes as we go through the zero issues.
Let's clear the air right off the bat: The Zero Hour crossover was a milestone event in DC's history. It had lovely Dan Jurgens art and some great zero-numbered issues that spun off as a result. And it still wasn't that good. Characters died unnecessarily, the plot went off the rails into the woods, and some of what DC wanted to sell in the nineties wasn't worth buying. And yet, this podcast about it is great! Bass and Siskoid approach the material with open minds (that are also full of knowledge) and a huge serving of good-natured humor. I have turned this on just to see how they could possibly make this month's material entertaining and been dumbfounded every time. I would recommend it for that magic trick alone.
