Victoria has a way of sharing her passion and the preciousness of more than human life that draws you in and gives you hope
This is an important podcast. Victoria’s book Church of the Wild changed my life and gave me community. The points that keep coming up in my mind, however, when I listen to the episodes are: I already understand and internalize grief, loss and sadness at the negative impacts humans have had on the natural world. What I think is needed is not dwelling on the heartbreak and tragedy every episode but focusing on hope and goodness and how we can get there through ritual and connection. It’s almost as though one is in a therapy session and all the therapist wants to talk about is grief and loss. It’s counter productive and I find I have to skip over it or stop listening. Also, as much as I admire and value Victoria’s insight, knowledge and experience, she as an interviewer should let the guest be the primary speaker and not interrupt so much to contribute her thoughts. I really want to know more of what the guest has to say but he/she is often cut off by Victoria wanting to add her two cents. Again, I respect Victoria’s knowledge but when I tune in I’m there to learn from the guest.
If you have felt a kinship with nature (ALL more/other than humans), this is for you! If you are longing to connect with the Sacred through nature, this is for you! If you have known at your core there is “something more” than what Sunday school taught you, this is your invitation to listen and breathe in the Homy Wild. Victoria Loorz is our Wild Guide in these uncertain times. This podcast will help you see love and relation through a different lens, encourage you to reignite or deepen your connection to nature, and fill your thirsty soul as we are all longing for inspiration and hope. Go find a bed of moss to lay on and take a listen. Your heart and soul will be filled.
