I always start my morning by listening to Jake and Anna. They’re funny and insightful. No better source for updates on GW basketball and the latest Phsih tour. Oh, and sometimes they talk Congress too (and they know their stuff!). Keep up the great work guys!! I know it’s not easy doing this at 5 AM every day!
A must listen on my daily commute, and now also loving The Readback with Andrew D, who does an awesome job. In increasingly volatile times, TDP has become a trusted, efficient daily news source.
I receive the daily update in my email every morning, but once I found this podcast, I prefer to listen to them share the news. I like the inside scoop that they provide in the halls of Congress. Always very knowledgeable and informative.
I really appreciate this podcast and listen first thing every morning. In a landscape with cable news and YouTube channels filled with biased content this podcast genuinely explains what is going on in DC. My only complaint is Jake will go in to partisan mode from time to time, which if I wanted that I could flip on CNN or Fox. Anna does an amazing job, keep up the great work!
I’ve been listening to Anna and Jake since they were on Playbook but it’s becoming harder and harder to listen to the podcast as Jake’s right wing bias becomes more and more obvious. His glee when things work out for republicans versus his clear disappointment when things go well for Democrats is bad enough but his overt partiality is affecting the edits of this “news” source. Every time Jake is on it feels less like unique, insider reporting and more like Fox News-esque propaganda. I only give two stars because the rest of the team does a decent job but I will unsubscribe soon if episodes continue to feature Jake’s GOP talking points instead of actual news.
Have loved this pod for catching up on Hill news, but the audio quality has been so inconsistent. Recently, it sounds echoey and as another reviewer said, like the recording is happening in a bathtub. I find myself skipping this each morning now. Please fix the audio quality!!
