I listen with headphones and Griffin’s mic picks up a TON of mouth noise. It’s almost to the point where I can’t listen anymore. Could you throw a filter to process his audio before you publish? Or I hear eating a green apple before recording helps, too. :) This is a great weekly roundup of the hottest news in Apple-related tech. They do dabble in non Apple reviews, too. They have great personalities that help show the different angles of Apple products and how they impact the world.
For me, this is the number podcast covering Apple. They don’t take themselves so seriously, as some do in the podcasting, tech world. It’s like hanging out and talking with your buddies. Keep it up! Updated review…. First, let me say, Erfon is the podcast. It’s been that way from day one. He’s the one that makes it fun and entertaining. I will say though, I never realized how much Leander meant to the podcast until he left. There’s a certain balance that he added to the podcast with Erfon, and the two of them were great together. Without Leander, it has taken a little step back. I still enjoy it, but for that reason, I have to take a star away.
I am updating my review to account for the following: the output volume is too low; compared to Apple News Today (which is what I use as the “gold standard”), I have to turn up the volume. Also, the “ad breaks” for Cult Cloth are way too long; three to four minutes sometimes. Finally, a few too many tangents; having some is understandable (if they’re somewhat relevant to the discussion), but many drag on way too long. Overall, the show is good, but needs some tweaks.
Excellent show hosted by an even more amazing cast. I live on the east coast and always look forward to downloading the show on Fridays to enjoy on my commute to work. I’ve been listening for almost a year now and my only regret is that I wish I had found this podcast sooner! P.S. The Cult Cloth really is amazing. Do yourself a favor and buy one.
I got weary of politics being a part of some other tech podcasts. I started trying out other shows. I have stayed with this show. The panelists are technically astute. They know the Apple product line and stay current. They do not take themselves too seriously. They do communicate the tech accurately. Enjoyable show. I have replayed a few episodes since I began listening because it’s a fun show to hear.
I’ve listened since the beginning. Way back when the hosts included Alex and Buster. The loss of Leander as a cohost was when I started to listen less often. I suspect Leander stopped joining because of Erfon’s “jokes” about Leander’s blinking, etc. Even after Leander left the show, Erfon still repeats the same jokes! He’s basically one of those bros that has the same joke he uses every time you see him. I don’t blame Leander for leaving. What’s sad is that Leander has decades of experience writing about Apple and the tech world. I do like Lewis and Griffin, and the best episode in the last 6 months was the one where Erfon was on vacation! There was a good discussion and the same recycled, 13 year old jokes were gone!
