Reality Escape Pod - Escape Rooms & Immersive Games

by David Spira & Peih-Gee Law

A Room Escape Artist Production In a world gone digital, doing things in person is strangely revolutionary.  Reality Escape Pod is an interview podcast diving deep with people who make the world’s best immersive games and experiences: ARGs, puzzle hunts, tabletop games, theme parks, and of course, escape rooms. Our aim is to bring together different segments of the gaming world to share ideas between them. Hosts David Spira & Peih-Gee Law explore immersive gaming from all angles with a unique blend of curiosity, joy, and a deep appreciation of craft. Each episode explores the guest’s philosophy, design approach, and humanity. About the hosts: David Spira is an experience designer, co-founder of RoomEscapeArtist.com and Reality Escape Convention. He is the escape room industry’s most prolific leader. In 2014 he applied his professional skills as a digital experience designer to the burgeoning industry of escape rooms, and more than a decade later he has built a community for its creators and consumers. Peih-Gee Law is most well known for being a fan favorite contestant on the reality show Survivor, where she played first in Survivor China in 2007, and again in a returning All-Star season Survivor Second Chance. In 2025, she launched PG's Playhouse, a fun podcast with brainteasers, puzzles, and trivia. She is also on the official story team for Neotropolis, an annual 5 day immersive cyberpunk festival, where she creates narrative driven gameplay and experiences for thousands of attendees.

What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

Extremely informative and insightful conversations on escape rooms, games, and immersive media. David and Peih-Gee are fantastic hosts and really put the work into their interviews with really thoughtful and thought provoking questions that are insightful and generate interesting discussion with their guests. The guests are always inspiring and informative. I thoroughly enjoy listening, and really appreciate the broad knowledge base and backgrounds that they seek out in their guests. I’m both an obsessed escape room fanatic and working toward being an escape room owner, and this podcast is a must listen to anyone from either perspective. I’ve learned so much from listening to this podcast, it’s really helped keep me informed on the current trends in the broader escape rooms industry, inspired me to strive to make my escape rooms better designed, more fun, and more robust, and also kept me grounded and realistic about the true challenges of succeeding in this industry. Thanks for all you do David and Peih-Gee!

Always smart, always accessible, and always fun. The dynamic between David and Peih-Gee is great, and they continue to bring in a fascinating assortment of creative people as guests. It is often (although not always) focused on escape rooms, but I think the insights and ideas would be valuable to anybody interested in any type of immersive entertainment.

As an escape room enthusiast I love talking about and learning everything I can about escape rooms, industry leaders and trends. This podcast is a front row seat to leaders and creators that I would never have access to otherwise. Keep them coming. Thanks !

Andy Mintzer · Sep 2025

This is truly a wonderful podcast that prioritizes a diverse array of guests in the escape room and broader immersive industries. David and Peih-Gee are excellent hosts with excellent chemistry with thoughtful insights into these industries. They offer kind, insightful questions to their guests and are strong advocates for the progression of the escape room industry from a safety and accessibility perspectives. I can’t recommend this podcast enough, their bonus shows on Patreon are an excellent value and offer a more casual, equally enjoyable listen.
