News Not Noise

by Jessica Yellin

I’m Jessica Yellin, the founder of News Not Noise. For years, I worked in network news at ABC, MSNBC, and CNN, where I was the Chief White House Correspondent. I’ve reported from around the world and won awards. The more years I got under my belt as a reporter, the more I became convinced that the news doesn't speak to a large part of the audience. In the summer of 2018, I did something different. The midterm elections were approaching and friends asked me to explain what the heck was happening in the political cycle. So, I picked up my phone and began posting short, daily explainer videos on Instagram. What started with me and a ring light is now a small team, dedicated to giving you news in a different voice. We aim to provide facts, not panic attacks. We interview real experts — not pundits. My goal is to provide the understanding you need to engage in the conversation and take action in the world.

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

An epidemiologist friend recommended Jessica Yellin years ago and what a gift! She's such a gem and powerful force. I wish she was running major networks because she's so fair and calm and humane and so full of integrity. It's amazing to have her podcasts as a go to for the true stories without the sensationalism. She deserves so much credit for steering news into a new direction of fact based, solid, reliable, humanitarian content. So appreciate the hard work she and her team do to provide solid, reliable content!

I am three episodes in and already a believer! I found your show through your recent midterm election talk on Glennon Doyle’s podcast. As a 35-year-old working mom who has a hunger for knowledge but who has to be super choosy with where I spend my time — I thank you! Loving your content!

I’ve been following a JY since the beginning of 2020 and consider her one of the best places to get my news and, more importantly, an understanding of what that news means. So glad she has a podcast, so glad she’s expanding her reach, and so glad she is working her tail off to provide people likes with the insight and information we need to be more engaged in this country.

Informative, eye-opening, and non-heart attack inducing. I enjoy the different knowledgeable guests and the topics help me better understand what’s happening and sometimes what our next course of action should be.
