I have been listening since episode 1. The show has almost always been a good listen, but it has improved significantly since Christine replaced Alex. I was getting annoyed with Alex’s unending monologues and his somewhat pompous and condescending tone (I’m sure he’s fitting in perfectly at Apple.) Christine is a breath of fresh air! …except when the subject turns to pop culture, but that’s a rare digression…I hope!
I don’t have much time to listen to Podcasts, but when I do, this is the one I go to. As well as keeping me up to date on Mac stuff, it is more entertaining than some others. I especially like the picks of the week.
Thank you for including chapters on the latest episode. Please keep doing that. The podcast is a great to weekly news rundown. I discover great apps and appreciate the different perspectives. Club Twit is great now!
I’ve been really enjoying MacBreak Weekly lately, especially since Christina joined as co-host. She’s brought a fresh perspective and a wider range of conversations around the Apple ecosystem, apps, services, and how regular people actually use this stuff day to day. The chemistry has been great, and she’s already added a lot of value to the show. One point from the latest episode really stood out to me, the discussion about Apple Maps improving now that Apple is offering business suggestions and moving toward ads/sponsored listings. Christina made a solid point there, even though Leo seemed more skeptical. Honestly, I agree with her. Apple Maps business information is still way behind in many cases, especially compared to Google. That conversation actually pushed me to take action myself. After hearing it, I went and created a business account to update our company’s listing and information properly with pictures, etc. That alone shows the value of the discussion, it made me think differently about something I normally would’ve ignored. The show still has the classic MacBreak Weekly feel, but Christina has definitely added another layer to it. Good move bringing her on.
Unlike other TWIT shows, this one has gone way downhill due to the panelists, other than Leo and Jason Snell (who is terrific). Christina is mostly annoying while Andy provides useless thoughts. In the most recent episode about the new Apple financing program, his comments were insulting at the very least and useless at best. Christina also was judgmental and unsure of her facts. While Jason is the voice of reason and knowledge. Listening to this show has become difficult, and no way would I recommend paying to subscribe unless there are serious improvements. Sorry, Leo! I’ve been a long-time listener.
The newest co-host to join the show is far too aggressively negative on Apple and dismissive of people who choose to select their products. I don’t need someone telling me I’m stupid for making choices to buy an Apple product. Andy just gets lost in himself and isn’t really adding much to the show at all. The only one with a real balanced view on Apple left is Jason. I stopped paying for the club, I think I’m close to an unsubscribe to the show completely at this point.
