What listeners say

Struggling with how to rate this. Long time listener since the TWiG days, having listened to 100s of episodes. The three hosts usually have great chemistry. Leo has a sense of tech history, Jeff has industrial historical perspective and Paris grounds them both with real-world usage and commentary her older co-hosts often are blind to. The challenge to that chemistry is when Leo puts on a pedantic AI acceleration hat on and dismissively talks over his co-hosts. Thankfully Paris and Jeff are often able to eventually reign Leo back in, often with a wildly interesting but off-topic story. Hello, radioactive shrimp anyone? Or torte law museum? lol. Fabulous! The guests are very interesting and I appreciate the journalistic chops that 2/3 of the crew has. Great questions instead of cheer-leading and ego-rubbing. Ultimately I still recommend the pod (netcast!) primarily as their perspective and tones differs on topics of the week compared to several other similarly themed pods (ex. Hard Fork).

I look forward to the show every week. Informative interviews and an excellent (if sometimes chaotic) round up of the week’s news. My favorite part is the banter between the hosts because it really feels like you’re listening to your friends going back and forth.

I’ve been riding the Leo Laporte train since the TechTV days—back when floppy disks still roamed the Earth. Intelligent Machines is vintage Leo with a futuristic twist: warm, witty, and wildly curious. Add Paris Martineau’s razor-sharp insights and Jeff Jarvis’s signature “grumpy professor meets AI evangelist” energy, and you’ve got a podcast that feels like a front-row seat at a brainiac dinner party. It’s the only show where I can laugh, learn, and panic about AI taking over… all in under an hour. If HAL 9000 had listened to this podcast, maybe things would’ve turned out better. Five stars, easy. More, if the robots let me.

Mr. Leo Laporte. Let me just say it is an honor sir, I downloaded Apple Podcasts just to leave this review. I’ll start by saying I am a 45 year old African-American man that works at one of the top cancer centers in Texas. I have followed your career from doing tech support in Houston, the Screensavers, this Week in Tech/Google and now my personal favorite show, “Intelligent Machines”. It’s the perfect combination of the sage wisdom of Jeff Jarvis, fan of the printed word such as myself, the “cold water in the face” of reality provided by the young upstart, Paris Martineu and the steady anchor, the familiar voice from my youth, Uncle Leo Laporte. Huge fan of the show, subscriber and fellow AI accelerator. One more thing, tell Mikah Sargent that there’s Black tech OG’s like me out here watching him and we’re proud of him. Keep it up. - Cybersoulja
