These mt rushmore episodes are awesome. It’s like I have permission to listen to individual songs again. Ha! It points me in a great direction and has reinvigorated my phish listening experience. Thank you!
I live a mostly isolated existence as a Phish fan in my day to day life, and my family and friends and coworkers are beyond tired of hearing how almost everything connects back to Phish. In high school, I had my toes dipped in a few social circles, and definitely had friends, but did not find a true sense of belonging until I walked onto the lot at Camden on 8/12/04. I had finally found my people. RJ, Meg, and Brian give me that same sense of belonging every week. Long may you run, and thank you for sharing your love and passion with us.
I’ve listened to the pod since 2017 I think. It’s one of the few that I listen to every episode of. I loved when Jonathan and Matt were regulars. The December 95 double ep with Drew and Chop were long my favorites. Was sad when the pod resorbed into Undermine, as I felt something key went missing. When the pod came back, I was elated. Then Brian and Meg were added to the mix, and I was unsure it could get back to the level I loved. It took a while for things to click. But they sure clicked. I think the pod is the best it’s ever been. All the different format experiments are really working. The varying formats enable the crew to engage Phish in new and unique ways. It keeps things fun and insightful. And RJ, Meg and Brian have developed amazing chemistry, with the best of each of them coming out. RJ’s humor, Meg’s electricity, Brian’s freakish encyclopedia of knowledge and “interesting” takes (I honestly don’t understand where Brian finds the time). Good stuff, HFPOD. Keep doing what you do.
HF Pod is a huge gift for any Phish fan. Big thanks to the hosts for the thoughtful dissections, discussions and depth of knowledge about the band and their music. I love being able to compare my own thoughts to theirs, and I always come away with new recommendations for shows and jams to check out. Thank you!
