As a Montana and frequent visitor to GNP, I still learned something fascinating and new each time. Thank you for helping me see a favorite place through new perspectives. My appreciation and admiration for this land and all who serve and protect it only grows with each episode.
I found this on the NPS website on the last two days of my family trip to Glacier. Wish I would have listened to ALL seasons prior to this trip. It made for the trip from west to east Glacier more informative while driving. Professional podcast. Concise. No unnecessary commentary. Good for young adults and mature teenagers. I plan to listen to the remaining episodes now that I am home. Thank you.
A search for some more context heading into an extended labor day weekend visit to the park landed me on this gem. Fantastic primer on historical context, ecology, tribal partnerships and conservation plus practical wilderness tips if you’re planning to visit —invaluable roadtrip companion and exceptionally produced. The entirety of Season 2 focused on the plight of the whitebark, investigating the challenges and what’s being done to mitigate extinction by talking directly to the people doing the science and it spurred my search for a trail to meet the trees up close and personal. Provocative intimate portraits from rangers to researchers laced throughout. Exhaustive different way to audio guide. I found it to be self reflective and honest. Highly recommend!
I found this podcast after visiting Glacier NP last year. By now, I listened to all 6 seasons and cannot wait for the next one. It is a great podcast with lots of information and some history lessons. Easy to listen to and follow.
The information and passion that showed through the White Pine season is lost on the rest of this podcast in season 3 particularly. It’s revisionist history of Lewis and Clark is shameful and heavily slanted towards an anti-capitalist ideal, emotionally based re-telling and insulting to the brave men and women who came across the land from the East. Many of those interviewed actually work for government agencies while spouting anti-American sentiments. Could have been as stunning as Glacier itself but yikes…real disappointment in a “nature” podcast.
