Music Interviews · The Brothers Hunt
by The Brothers Hunt
“God’s Country” with The Brothers Hunt (brothers Dan and Reid Isbell) is a rollicking weekly podcast that sits at the intersection of country music and the great outdoors. Each episode explores how today’s biggest and most talented country stars and songwriters pull inspiration from rugged, first-hand relationships with the natural world. Nashville songwriters by profession who spent their childhoods getting muddy in the wilds of Tennessee, Dan and Reid draw on their own passion for hunting and fishing to lead a thought-provoking and fun exploration of the fundamental role of outdoor living in country music.

This is one of the best podcasts I’ve come across. I’ve listened to almost every single episode. The episode with Ern was my favorite. His freestyle was insane, and he absolutely killed his “Graverite” song at the end. Brothers Hunt, keep doing your thing. You guys have put me onto a lot of great artists. I don’t really know much about country music, so hearing these artists on the pod is a great way to shortcut straight to the good stuff.
First caught a glimpse of the pod of FB. Thankfully, I marched right over to check out the full podcasts. I LOVE the humility, the gentle and humble nature, the full circle moments and the way you boys relate and make stars relatable. The stories are unmatched, the songs and covers will give me chills pretty much every time. My new favorite podcast, for sure.
I’m a 28 year old female who has listened to every single episode (some more than once) and I LOVE the pod!! I am always learning things from the show and surprising my husband with all of my random hunting knowledge :) Thank you for being so outspoken about your faith and being such a fun podcast to listen to!! Unpopular (or popular?) opinion- Dan is the better singer 🤭 Haha love you both and you are both crazy talented! Can’t wait for 2026!
I’ve listened to every episode. The first time I saw Dan and Reid was on MeatEater. As soon as they announced that they would have their own podcast, I subscribed. In a weird way it’s like they’re family and I’ve gotten to watch them grow and succeed. Their stories about struggling through the music industry are so relatable to me. In a weird way, I’m proud of them. Looking forward for more to come! I didn’t have it in me to write a funny 5 star rating, only sincerity.
I used to listen to this show as soon as they would release a new episode but I’ve strayed away from the show because I’m tired of Dan and Reed talking about themselves the whole time and giving very little time to the guest. Especially on the Morgan Evan’s episode. That episode was kinda cringy and I couldn’t even get through the whole show.
