Everybody's Business

by Bloomberg and iHeartPodcasts

Bloomberg Businessweek brings you a smart and fun chat show about all things...business. Hosted by award-winning business and economics journalists Max Chafkin (author of The Contrarian: Peter Thiel and Silicon Valley’s Pursuit of Power) and Stacey Vanek Smith (former co-host of NPR’s Planet Money and reporter for Marketplace), Everybody's Business is powered by the unparalleled sources and reporters who bring you Businessweek magazine’s headlines and the stories behind them. The show gives listeners a window into the discussions happening in boardrooms, Zooms and group chats in power centers around the world. From interpreting Fed meetings to the business of wolf cloning, each week Max, Stacey and their friends at Bloomberg Businessweek guide listeners through what really went on during the last week from Wall Street and Main Street. Because what’s happening with money and markets is everybody’s business.

What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

Great show! Fun and interesting, plus smart as all get out. Have loved Stacey since NPR and was devastated when she left, especially because she seemed to slip away quietly. But it has been good to hear her on APM and now on this show! The latest episode had a segment that involved photos though, and that was really frustrating for a podcast! If you’re going to do that, please have some way for the audience to look at what you’re referencing, such as on the show’s website or an associated IG account.

Used to love listening to Stacey’s reporting on NPR shows Planet Money and the Indicator. Was so happy to discover Stacey is still doing her great reporting here. Really good show, both educational and entertaining

I’m a long time SVS listener and admirer. Wonderful storyteller who does her homework but always puts a human spin on everything. Enjoying the new partnership and good rapport between cohosts, as well as insightful guests. Keep up the good work!

NPRRULES · Jul 2025

This has become a favorite and is now part of my regular podcast rotation (a pretty high bar at this point) I very much enjoy the different interviews and always come away feeling as if this has been time well spent. It veers into the silly on occasion (I could do without the poems) but far prefer that to the grim and dire tone taken by many other shows. Very nice job everyone.
