When Elizabeth Ries and Margery Punnett hosted a myTalk 107.1 radio show together, they joked that their most personal conversations happened during the commercial breaks. During one of these pauses, Margery shared an important family principle: bringing your best self to your home. Being an urban farmer with a flock of chickens, Elizabeth quipped, "Bring your best to the nest!" The outside world shouldn't get the smiling happy version of you while your family gets the crabby and exhausted one. On "Best To The Nest," Margery & Elizabeth explore the simple concept of creating strong, comforting, beautiful nests that prepare us to fly.

I’ve never written a review before, but I just had to thank you for sharing your grief journey. I lost the love of my life 5.5 years ago. He was only 64. Your words, that brought all of the tears, is very healing.
I’ve been listening to this podcast since the beginning. I listened to Ian & Margery on 107, then Margery & Elizabeth. I watch Elizabeth on tv. I just adore you two and the dynamic of your deep friendship and wisdom. There have been so many times that episodes of BTTN have resonated strongly for me, but after listening to Bolt Hole episode 2, I knew I had to leave a review. My dad was and incredible person who died of a sudden illness in August/September and I’ve never known grief like what I’m experiencing now. Hearing Margery’s honesty as she navigates the loss of Ian has helped me to not feel so alone. Two major takeaways from the Bolt Hole episodes are, “Move onward in a positive way and don’t get stuck” and, “Live with (grief), not in it.” Thanks to the both of you for sharing your candor and insight with us through your podcast, and thanks especially to Margery for sharing about how you are navigating extreme grief. You are helping me to get through mine as well.
I can’t believe how much this podcast has meant to me over the past 400 episodes! The conversations Marjorie and Elizabeth share are thought-provoking, heartwarming, and hilarious. This podcast has been part of my weekly rhythm and the topics shared between these two best friends are topics my besties and I then discuss when it comes to our nests and the partners and “chicks” within it. So grateful for the time, thought, and fun energy put forth into this podcast I will keep listening to the 1,000 episode and beyond. Cheers! Thank you M&E! Sincerely, Terren from Mpls.
Even though this podcast isn’t specifically geared for me (my kids are grown and out of the nest), I love the chemistry between Margery & Elizabeth. The topics they discuss are always interesting and they both bring a different perspective to whatever is being discussed They laugh and boy do they cry-lol. But that’s a good thing because they are not afraid to bring authenticity to the podcast. Well done and professionally produced, Best to the Nest makes for a great weekly companion as you walk, drive or do chores around your nest! Matt
