I love Lester Holt’s introduction for Dateline episodes. For many Dateline listeners, the voices of Lester Holt and Keith Morrison are key elements of the program, so when I saw Lester Holt had a new podcast, I was interested. There’s only 1 episode so far, but it was a great interview. Holt sits down with Colin Kaepetnick and it felt like both a conversation and a master class in journalism. No dramatic music, no questions that felt like an attempt to get a scoop (or gossip). Also no murders, but that’s not a bad thing. I like Dateline but so far, I love Before & After.
