Across the Movie Aisle

by Across the Movie Aisle

Here’s the elevator pitch: It’s “Left, Right, and Center” meets “Siskel and Ebert.” Three friends from different ideological perspectives discuss the movies and controversies (or nontroversies!) swirling around them. You'll have to sign up for the Substack to get bonus episodes and you can do that at movieaisle.substack.com.

What listeners say

A curated, balanced selection of Apple Podcasts reviews.

Intelligent discussion about movies and the entertainment industry and culture more generally, from three hosts with different perspectives and interests, but with a nice rapport among themselves.

Pdxwinegeek · Dec 2025

A must-listen. I learn so much - I get introduced to movies and aspects of the industry I didn’t know about, and get opinions about movies I have seen and want to learn more about. I go to lots of movies, something few others do these days, and this podcast (and its companion, The Bulwark Goes To Hollywood) gives me the kind of movie conversation I like but have trouble finding in real life. The hosts share my love of movies and inspire me to see more. I really value their knowledge and distinct personalities.

Mollie Maxwell · Jul 2025

I really enjoy this podcast. It’s the only movie review podcast I listen to regularly. The structure of having three film lovers with very different personal viewpoints, but common love of movies makes the discussions interesting and fun. Sonny, Alyssa, and Peter always bring thoughtful insights to the show. It’s a good time.

joepioneer · Jan 2025

I very much appreciate that they maintain a regular schedule (not true of some of my other favorite podcasts). I do wish they’d spend less time on the “controversy or ‘nontroversy’” segment, particularly when the topic barely relates to film or TV. Also, it strikes me as odd that a show about movies calls the review portion the “main event” and not the “feature presentation.”
