Bring an open, curious mind and you will get a lot of good advice and reflection if your parenting goals are to build family relationships on love, trust and understanding vs. dominance, fear, and authoritarianism.
There are a few things that make this podcast different from other parenting podcasts:
1) It is most certainly evidence based and often examines studies that address the society we’re parenting in and its effects on both parents and children, something that “just say ABC when your child does XYZ” advice podcasts don’t consider. (I think it also shows a good balance in questioning what we’ve been conditioned to think are “normal” behaviors and expectations —for both kids and parents — and why that is.)
2) It has the point of view that “parent” is not the end all, be all of our existence after having kids, and that giving ourselves permission and encouragement to consider our own needs and desires often LEADS to us being better parents!
3) Guests are a mix of parents and experts, so you get to both learn from professionals as well as hear about relatable, everyday, common family events and parenting situations.
4) Episodes are in depth. Yes, it’s a time commitment, but I get much more out of full exploration of these topics than 15-30 minutes (including toy subscription and supplement ads) of other “quick fix”-style advice podcasts.

The podcast suffers from a lack of credibility due to the host’s reliance on personal anecdotes and opinions rather than science-based research. While her perspective may resonate with some listeners, the absence of evidence-based information weakens the podcast’s authority
