I’ve been using Scrivener on iOS as a full-time freelance writer for about five years now, so I’m naturally inclined to like this podcast. But if you have any interest in writing for publication, this podcast is recommended even if you’ve never heard of Scrivener before. One big reason: An insightful and gifted interviewer who seems to ask all of the right questions of every guest, teasing out the best details of their inspiration, workflow, and publication journeys in a highly entertaining format that devotes half of the show to their work/process and half to how they use Scrivener’s writing software. Highly recommended.

While the audio quality leaves a little to be desired, the content certainly does not! This podcast was chock full of interesting conversation about the philosophy and practicality of writing alike. It’s very interesting to hear about the process from professionals and the host does a lovely job asking pertinent questions. The back half of the show does feel a bit like a sneaky sales pitch for why Scrivener is great, but it is pretty great, so I’ll let it slide 😉

In the last 10 years this is the only podcast where I hung onto every single word. I learned things about scrivener that I never would have known. The host move things along without rambling like annoying millennials and Gen Z podcasts these days. The only reason it’s a 4.5 for me is because there is a typewriter ping sound effect used throughout the show. I have a CNS disease that makes high-pitched sounds extremely painful to listen to. If they could mute that sound substantially or get rid of it all together, I will change my score in a heartbeat.
