This new podcast is worth it for three reasons. First, it's going against the current trends which favor senationalism and outrage. So I'm along for the ride.

I'm a big fan of Bill's writing and other podcast on the Blogging Heads network, so I was excited to hear about "When America Worked." It did not disapoint. Bill tells a great story about a person I've never heard who has quite literally changed the world (and it always helps the interest factor when a DC sex scandal is involved). What brings the podcast over the top for me though is not just the story (which is fasinating), but the ethos behind this project. Sometimes you need to make deals and compromise to get things done. The U.S. is too big and diverse for purity tests. Excited for the next epidsode.
