What Lansing Council - Podcast Rankings and reviews

I’ve been struggling for the past few months because national politics are too overwhelming and depressing. I also realized I had no idea what the right size “problem” is for local politicians (when candidates ask what I care about, what’s a reasonable sized thing to say? Parks? Child care? Healthcare costs? Human rights?). This podcast is both informative and genuinely enjoyable - listening to Jill chat w guests feels like hanging out with friends. A friend shared it with me last week and I’ve already listened through the entire backlog. Thank you Jill!!

This show is dryly hilarious and totally essential information. Jill is such a great host so funny, femme, and chatty in a perfect understated way. This is how I want to get all my news. It makes me love our absolutely adequate city of Lansing even more! While feeling like it's possible to have my voice heard. 10/10!

What an absolute delight! Probably mostly because I’m a big ole nerd, I am obsessed with this little recap of local politicking. But, in all seriousness, I think a lot of people are looking for ways they can feel engaged and impactful without feeling overwhelmed and also limiting exposure to big federal impending doom, and Jill has created such a perfect balm for news junkies and wonky citizens to keep up with our community governance. It simultaneously inspires me to attend council meetings for myself while also reassuring me that, if I don’t, I can be firmly in loop. Love Lansing ;)
