I almost thought I had lost my mind. As an avid Last of Us fan, I scour through infinite podcasts and it has been impossible to find one which accurately represents the messaging the show is giving. Thank you for actually understanding the writing of the adaptation and respecting the small changes in order for the story telling to make sense. So many of these bro podcasts have the absolute opposite takes and internalized misogyny towards the female leads they don’t even realize that it’s the reason why they have a problem with the show. Thank you for providing thoughtful and intellectual break downs with patience and empathy.

HBO shows lately have been lacking fun (looking at you Gilded Age and Raised by Wolves) but these podcasts are a blast. Loving Jess/Sara and Josh/Grace/Taran recapping these shows and keeping things fun & entertaining. Can’t wait to see what comes next.

Neither host appears to have the slightest interest in digging deeper into the show or the world around them. The episode I listened to was taken up by an extended conversation on the hosts’ future grey hair and current zits. I was horrified, and had to stop listening entirely, when neither of them knew who Gloria Steinem is. Her name was only mentioned with reverence around 10 times in the episode, but neither host bothered to even google her. It’s one thing to not recognize her by sight, but that neither had ever even heard her hame, referring to her as “some lady,” was an insult to the women’s movement and the intelligence of listeners. You can do far better than listen to this inane podcast.
