This is a bizarre one, so stick with me: Yesterday’s ITA included the announcement of this great new show from Brendon which, as a huge fan of the dynamic Aether duo, I was ecstatic to learn about. I listened to the weekly episode of ITA in the morning as my Wednesday routine dictated and planned to listened to Wavelengths in the evening after work. Just after my shift, my partner and I got a call from her brother that he was in a serious car accident. My partner rushed out the door and after securing childcare for our daughter I followed in pursuit. Nerves and anxiety kicked in on the drive to the site of the wreck and I suddenly remembered about my plans to listen to Wavelengths that night. Brendon, having a familiar voice talk about things you are excited about in an industry that is our shared lifelong passion (along with the totally on-brand low fi beats) was incredibly grounding and did wonders to clear my head and prep me to arrive at what was in fact a very stressful situation. More than ever, I appreciate your enthusiasm, relentless pursuit of joy and cups half full, and (for lack of a better phrase) the good vibes you put out into the world. Your efforts are impactful in many people’s lives and especially mine last night. Wavelengths is exactly what you’d expect from one of my two favorite folks in gaming: a joyful and positive review of gaming headlines that shines from an otherwise dark cloud of ranting fans, viewer-hungry journalism giants, and misinformed rumors. Keep up the good work :)

You may already know Brendon from the Into The Aether Podcast he hosts with Steven, and it’s great seeing them both able to branch out into their other creative endeavors. I love their positivity and willingness to give many things a chance without dunking on it right off the bat. They keep it very low key with good vibes. I have never been able to withstand video game podcasts before because they are so over the top and obnoxious and what Brendon and Steven do is such a good experience so I will at least listen to whatever content they put out there. I’m glad to see this show being more of the same, and something that I can get video game news without having to cringe all the time. Thank you Brendon B.
