Viewer Discretion with Mina Kimes and David Dennis Jr. - Podcast Rankings and reviews

I am familiar with David Dennis Jr. from listenership of his friend, Clinton Yates’s top notch show, Clinton and Friends. I am familiar with Mina Mimes, along with David as well in addition to to the aforementioned, for her brilliant work on Around the Horn. I’m a huge sports fan, the world from which Mina and David are mainly from. I am also a huge Superman fan and really enjoyed the new version directed by James Gunn. I was aware of this show with its emphasis on the target of a current cultural moment, Love Island. This, though, is my first listen of the show, which apparently was their first film review. It is fantastic! Thoughtful, nuanced, funny, insightful, and a great example of Mina and David as astute analysts of whatever the subject matter is. They now have a new regular subscriber and listener in me. Highly recommended you take a listen. I think you’ll enjoy it.

I would listen to these two read the dictionary. I love the nuance and empathy and intelligence they bring to our pop cultural moments. Pop culture is magical when it transcends silliness and really speaks to the complex issues of our times, and Mina and David bring this lens, which I deeply appreciate iste and respect. Listening to David talk about Malcolm Jamal Warner in today’s episode (Superman) had me tearing up. Thank you to both of you!

I like this Love is Blind recap, possibly more than I like the show! Mina and David provide fun, in-depth analysis, and top it off with character power rankings…so fun!!

This podcast and the YouTube channel are SO much more enjoyable than watching the show. I laugh hard! The icing on the cake is you don’t have to watch the cringe moments on the actual show bc Mina and David’s re-enactments are joyous! Their humor, honesty, observations, impressions, body language and insight into human behavior is so spot on and interesting! Best of all……is the friendship between Mina, David and producer Charlie. It is hilarious!!
