These stories are topical, thorough, digestible, and insightful. UV offers deep reporting on breaking news balanced with interesting insights into the tech industry + its actors. All of this is underpinned by well calibrated explanations of underlying tech concepts and historical background. I always take something new away from a UV episode :) The best part of the show is how sneaky funny it is. The banter between the hosts often makes me laugh out loud on my walk to work… it’s just fun to listen to smart friends talk.
On a personal note: As a WiT who’s trying to be more politically active, I feel lucky to be able to hear current events reporting from the UV team. It’s a scary (often dystopian) world out there right now in both politics and tech. I’m an anxious person and it can difficult to keep informed + activated without doom spiralling… but this podcast makes it infinitely more tolerable :) thank you, please keep up the great work!!

love uncanny valley! wired journalists are doing such critical original reporting right now, and this podcast is such a perfect balance of engaging and instructive while also being entirely digestible and a pleasure to listen to. it must be the personalities of the hosts, but somehow they share the dark, dire messages of the moment in a way that leave me informed but not utterly hopeless. thanks, UV!

I’ve enjoyed the last two episodes on surveillance, but overall have a hard time listening to this podcast because of the needless banter and sarcasm. Lauren is best imo, but is always interrupted by the other two. I think it would be great to focus more on the informative aspect and less on the conversational tone.

I’m really enjoying this podcast. Full disclosure I’ve been a fan of wired since the very beginning. I like the balance of it being smart and human. The people on the show are interesting and accessible. Please keep it that way and not go over the top if you feel the urge. Keep up the good work!

I wanted to like this show and have given it a long honest try but the hosts come off as kinda not serious and more interested in chatting with each other like friends. It’s a wasted opportunity of a podcast that could delve deeper into information from the magazine but instead they opt for flippant euphemism and superficial hot takes.

This used to be one of my favorite podcasts, but unfortunately the addition of Katie Drummond to the mix weighs it down with severe, scoldy mom energy that drains all the joy out the show. And because she’s in a higher position of power, you can tell there’s not much anyone can say or do about it. It’s unfortunate that what used to be such a delightful podcast is now just Katie yelling at me about things that are not uncommon knowledge. I don’t need this
