I was really excited for this Olympic podcast, but unfortunately it feels extremely underproduced and underprepared.
The episodes come across as if there was little to no research done ahead of time. There aren’t clear talking points, no real structure, and very few nuanced insights into the events, athletes, or broader Olympic storylines. For a topic as layered and interesting as the Olympics, the commentary feels surface-level and reactive rather than thoughtful or informed.
The biggest distraction, though, especially in the most recent episode, is the music. It’s inserted in such an awkward and seemingly random way that I genuinely thought my headphones were connecting to another device. It doesn’t enhance the show — it pulls you out of it. The transitions feel jarring instead of polished.
There’s a lot of potential here, but it really needs stronger prep, deeper analysis, and much tighter production to match the scale and excitement of the Olympics. I also think the hosts seem a bit burned out and some rest could have brought out more nuanced perspectives.
