This podcast is a great way to learn about Judaism. I’ve learned so much in such an entertaining manner. I wish I could give even more stars!
I am Christian but find the Jewish thought more interesting than many of the modern Christian thought. I have learned a great deal about friends who are Jewish through this podcast. This is truly a learning experience.
I first met Rabbi Parr in person numerous years ago. He was very helpful (not to mention patient!) in helping me understand not only Judaism better, but also Jewish texts, beliefs, history, and much more. Almost a year after Rabbi Parr and I parted ways when I relocated to another city, I took what I learned from him and formally converted to Judaism at the current synagogue where I am active. I have always said only good things about Rabbi Parr. And I always will.
I have l said that key problem in Jewish and Christian understanding of each other can be characterized as, “You think you know what I think, but you’re wrong. I think I know what you think, but I’m wrong, too.” The problem this presents is that we don’t ask the questions that we believe we already know the answers to. But we’re wrong. Rabbi Parr overcomes this problem by explaining to Christians what Jews really think. We don’t have agree, but we should at least understand what we disagree about. This is the foundation of mutual respect. And, it’s fun.
