Too Much Information - Podcast Rankings and reviews

Excellent podcast for those who want a deep dive into fun topics from Taco Bell to the Titanic. Humorous banter and fun sidetracks between the hosts. High recommend for even those odd topics is you may not be initially interested in or know much about.

I enjoy this show a lot. The two hosts get along very well and are very knowledgeable. They do a good job balancing the structure of each episode and their own digressions. It seems like they genuinely care a lot about the podcast and it shows. If you like to learn about the broad strokes in regards to the making of particular pieces of media, as well as the interesting tidbits that arise along the way, this show is something you’d very much enjoy.

As for complaints, well… I initially had a long section here explaining how I thought the hosts could be overly critical and opinionated sometimes. I regret saying that now. It’s really not a big deal, they’re people, they are going to have opinions and it’s okay if they are confident in their own opinions. Good for them.

I do have one valid complaint though, although it’s minor. There have been numerous instances where there are editing errors in which segments (sometimes nearing a minute long) repeat themselves. I’ve heard this happen in at least five episodes. There was one instance too where a brief section was so garbled that I couldn’t possibility make out what was being said. It was as if some words were cut out and others repeated. Although these editing errors are strange, it’s by no means a massive issue.

I hope they do more “Oops, All Digressions”, I hope that they have more guests on the show, and lastly, I hope this show keeps going for a long time and gains a deservedly large audience.

Keep up the great work, but for the love of all, please fix your audio levels- the break music is way too loud, and the levels between the hosts are out of whack. Makes listening very difficult at times

The topics are great. The research/knowledge is sometimes amazing. The hosting chemistry is strong (a bit too cynical at times, but I do like that in more measured amounts). But there is a "but ..." and it really big "but": These guys laugh/cackle at their own jokes WAAAAAAAY too much. Once they get into this groove, they literally do it every sentence and it just distracts from the show and makes for "do I really want to keep listening to this?" judgement calls. C'mon guys. Dial that back. Pick and choose your times to laugh at your own jokes instead of doing it incessantly ... Otherwise, it's a near-perfect podcast.

I’ll play this in the background while cleaning or cooking. Sometimes it’s interesting, but I often skip the long rants. Please please PLEASE stop wasting our time with the “grumpy cohost” jingle. The curmudgeon act wears thin, though the hosts seem amused by it… and themselves.
