This was my go to podcast in preparation for my vacation to France. I visited Paris in college and I knew I missed a LOT of important context to the few sites I visited. Now, 20 years later, a little wiser, and not as starved, I wanted to be intentional about appreciating the sites and artifacts of this city and neighboring Versailles. This podcast allowed me to do just that. The painting Death of Marat had way more significance to me than if I had never learned about the history through this program. The Palace of Versailles had a whole new meaning to me.
Now that I’m back in the states I am glued to learning more.

I like this podcast, but it’s essentially just an abridged version of Andrew Roberts book “Napoleon” Every insight, example etc is taken almost directly from Roberts book from what I can tell.
