Tony Brueski’s intelligent, thorough, fact based commentary is my number one choice DAILY to stay current in my awareness of the news about the John O’Keefe murder trial. I am a proud, educated resident of Massachusetts who is, frankly, embarrassed by the mob mentality this tragic case has garnered. Thank you, Tony, for staying out of the mud and offering superior coverage of this horrible case!

I really liked this podcast until I read the one star reviews. I think the reviews themselves are whiny. But sadly they colored my enjoyment. The host of the podcast does have a radio DJ type of voice but so far his comments seem typical of a podcast host. I like his descriptions of the body language in the courtroom. He seems astute in his assessment of the witnesses. The uninterrupted telecast of the courtroom goings-on is absolutely riveting! Hours fly by. I cannot recommend it enough.
It is fascinating to hear Mr.Brennan’s mellow approach against the defense. The defense keeps beating a horse long after it’s dead. I’m sure the jury is sick of his tv drama method of questioning. The guy must have learned to try cases by workshop or apprenticing to slick plaintiff lawyers. Karen chose poorly when she picked him to be her mouthpiece. At one point he says to his assistant, “I’m rushed” when the asst. is trying to find something for him. He’s not rushed; he’s unprepared.

Tony is brilliantly funny and yet still full of common sense and analytical thinking. Great insight to the trial. It’s honest regardless whether people like the truth of not.

Would like to see longer commentary. At least one episode (the google search) is not the one titled or described - it’s a clip from an episode about the Daybell trial. Still listening, so not sure if there are others. When episodes are sorted oldest to newest, the multi part episodes are out of order. Mainly listening for the live courtroom audio.

I listened to True Crime Today: The Trial of Karen Read and was very disappointed by the coverage. From the very beginning, the podcast was 100% one-sided, clearly biased against Karen Read. Rather than providing a balanced analysis of both the prosecution and defense arguments, the hosts openly mocked and dismissed the defense, even going so far as to suggest that jurors would be “stupid” if they believed it. This kind of commentary is not only unprofessional but also deeply disrespectful to the judicial process and those involved.
If you’re looking for fair, objective, and thoughtful coverage of a criminal trial, I would not recommend this podcast. Trials deserve to be covered impartially, allowing listeners to consider all sides and form their own opinions. Sadly, True Crime Today falls far short of that standard.

As someone who has been following the Karen Read trial closely—including watching the proceedings, listening to multiple podcasts (including this one), and researching the facts—I find it incredibly unfair and condescending for Jennifer Coffindaffer to claim that those in “Karen Read’s camp” are only relying on YouTube and drama. That kind of blanket statement discredits the many thoughtful, informed individuals who are making judgments based on the same evidence she is. Just because someone believes there may be a cover-up does not mean they aren’t critically evaluating the information. This kind of bias only undermines the credibility of the discussion. Listeners deserve more respect and balance, especially when the stakes are this high.
