One of the best history podcasts out there full stop. Well researched and incredibly in depth. The transcripts of the episodes with citations and additional information are all available online. Examines an incredibly interesting and underexamined period of French history. This podcast is a treat for anyone who knows too much or too little about French history.

The host’s passion for the topic is evident in the painstaking by efforts he takes to research and present his material. He goes in depth, deep into the weeds, without getting lost. His presentation style is both amiable and authoritative. In general, a fantastic show that will inform, entertain, and endear itself to the audience.

The host puts so much effort into writing thoughtful, clearly constructed scripts and reading them with perfect quality. Few history podcasts reach this level of quality, it feels like one of the big names even though it’s not very popular yet.

in an effort to understand this era of French history I have read a lot of books and even taken a college course, but I have never found a resource that so clearly and entertainingly laid it out as this podcast. Bravo!
